  this post is necessarily lengthy, but my hope is that these 14 examples of wtbts dogma will be examined closely by those who either have something to gain by doing so, or those who can provide "new light" for any of the topics.. "however, you may say in your heart: “how will we know that jehovah has not spoken the word?” when the prophet speaks in the name of jehovah and the word is not....true, then jehovah did not speak that word.

  "Their zeal for knowledge may even prompt them to dig back into things that were published long before they came into the truth, expanding and deepening their understanding, and ever growing in Christian maturity. . . . Have you really studied these earlier publications? . . . If you are a newer one in the congregation, have you studied just one of the Society’s publications. . . . How can all these people get the things they have missed? Only by studying earlier publications and digging back through previous issues of The Watchtower kept in the library at your local Kingdom Hall. There is much in the way of spiritual riches and aids toward mature knowledge in these earlier publications, and their study is most certainly worth your time. By checking back through the Society’s earlier publications you will learn where to find the answers to questions that arise, and you will rejoice to see your understanding continue to grow.” (The Watchtower, May 15, 1957, pp. 311-317).

  Nowadays, if you dare mention researching older material, you're cross examined for your "motives", reminded of the "New Light" doctrine, questioned where you obtained the earlier publications and then admonished to "keep up" with Jehovah's chariot, rather than catch up to it.

  @Diogenesister Really???!!! I really love her approach. Once a week she uploads three new videos and I'm either in stitches, in awe or just gobsmacked by the dialogue that unfolds.

  In one of her recent uploads, she actually got quite far with the amount she was able to say to this JW woman over the phone. Usually they hang up very quickly when they realize she's not some clueless ingénue who wants to know when suffering will finally end.

  i told someone and they became very angry with me.

  we have been friends for many years but lately his breath is eye burning.

  he is single so he doesn't have a wife to tell him, dear you need a mint.

  You won't believe this ... Jehovah's rich blessing has befallen me !!!

  my dad died a couple years back (not how you thought this would start, i know).

  he was an elder, and a very emotionally abusive father, well before the point where he ever shunned me.

  he died pretty much penniless, and never would buy life insurance or anything.

  so i was watching some of the dramas screened at the be courageous convention, and one caught my eye.. it's the scene where a group of jw teens are watching something deemed as "sinful" at the movie theaters.
